SCORBOLAMID A product used in colds and flu.

The active substances of the drug are: salicylamide, ascorbic acid and rutoside.
1 sugar-coated tablet contains: 300 mg of salicylamide, 100 mg of ascorbic acid, 5 mg of rutoside.
The other ingredients are: potato starch, gelatin, talc, purified water (the core of a sugar-coated tablet), sucrose, talc, gum arabic, quinoline yellow (E-104), carnauba wax and purified water (coating).
 
Dosage
 
Orally, usually 1-2 sugared tablets 3 times a day. The drug is best taken with a meal or a glass of water or milk.
 
Action
 
Salicylamide - antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory.
Rutoside - strengthens blood vessels and increases their elasticity. In addition, it protects vitamin C from oxidation and therefore vitamin C lasts longer.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - supplements the deficiency of vitamin C, supporting the body's resistance during infection.

 Fever and pain associated with colds or flu, headaches, neuralgia.
 
Contraindications
 
When you do not use Scorbolamid:hypersensitivity to salicylamide or other components of the drug;
hypersensitivity to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
asthma with nasal polyps (induced or exacerbated by acetylsalicylic acid);
active peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract;
disturbances of acid-base balance (diabetes, uremia, tetany);
blood clotting disorders (e.g., haemophilia, thrombocytopenia);
genetically determined deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (risk of haemolysis after long-term oral ingestion of ascorbic acid);
nephrolithiasis (risk of developing urinary stones after high doses of ascorbic acid);
hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, excessive amount of uric acid in the blood or oxalate in the urine;
pregnancy;
breast-feeding.
It should not be used in children under 16 years of age, except for rare diseases such as Kawasaki disease, due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.
 
Take special care with Scorbolamid:
 
• if you have bronchial asthma;
 
• if you have liver or kidney failure;
 
• in patients after peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding.
 
Alcohol may increase side effects.
 
Side effects
 
Like all medicines, Scorbolamide can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
 
The most common side effects are from the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system.
 
Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting, cramps in the abdominal cavity, burning sensation behind the breastbone, lack of appetite, diarrhea, irritation of the gastric and duodenal mucosa (erosions and ulcerations), dry mouth.There was no clear association between the use of salicylamide and gastrointestinal bleeding.
 
Nervous system disorders: dizziness, drowsiness, headaches.
 
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: facial flushing, rash, excessive sweating.
 
The drug should be used with caution in patients with acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs causing rash, angioneurotic edema (swelling of the face, tongue and trachea that cause breathing problems), bronchospasm, rhinitis or shock, because these side effects may occur. after using Scorbolamid.
