ESCEVEN® reduces the permeability of the walls of the blood vessels and improves the tone of the venous vessels and valves. The drug is used to treat the symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency such as oedema, leg cramps, itching, pain and heavy legs, varicose veins and post-thrombotic syndrome. The product has traditionally been used to treat posttraumatic and postoperative oedema of the soft tissues.
DIRECTIONS: Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet 3 times daily after meals, unless prescribed otherwise by your doctor. Consult your doctor to determine the period of use. Due to the lack of available safety information, the drug should not be used in children unless there are clear medical indications.
INTERACTIONS: Please inform your physician about any drugs you have recently taken, even those sold without prescription. Esceven may interact with antacids and anti-ulcer products, and the nephrotoxicity of aminoglycoside antibiotics and antithrombotic drugs may increase. Cephalosporins can reduce the degree of protein binding of escin.
WARNINGS:
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: Like any other drug, Esceven may have adverse effects. Dizziness, itching, nausea and headache can occasionally occur. In rare cases, Esceven may cause gastrointestinal disorders. Should you experience any other adverse symptoms not specified in this leaflet, inform your doctor.
